about me

Hi! Im Mandee Cameruci, the owner and creative behind Barefoot Soul Beauty. I am 30 years young and live in the beautiful mitten state, Michigan. I adventure through life with my awesome husband, Jake and my 3 wild hooligans. We love to camp, ride dirt bikes, garden, and play outside together. Our exciting new adventures this year will include chickens and bees on our little 4 acre slice of heaven.

People always ask, “Did you always know that you wanted to be a hair and makeup artist?” Here’s my honest answer, YES and NO. I signed up for Cosmetology school as soon as I turned 18, two weeks away from graduating high school and without my parents knowledge.

So YES, I always knew I wanted to go to “Cos-school” but what I didn’t know was what I wanted to do after I received my license. Fun Fact, I graduated from cosmetology school on my due date with my son 10-10-10! (He didn’t show up for two weeks after anyways!) I took my state bards in 2011 and became a licensed professional.

I tried out corporate salons, stayed with a private salon family for 5 years, and later moved to my own personal salon. I still have my salon suite where I love being creative with hair colors and cuts. Waxing brows is kind of my jam too!

Lets fast forward through 2 more children, getting married, and a lot of growing up as an individual. I knew the 9-5 grind wasn’t for me and I wanted to create something sustainable for myself and my family. So I grew my skill set and entered the world of makeup. I discovered the art of makeup and how much of a creative outlet it was for me. About 3 years ago I started cleaning makeup brushes for a talented friend of mine. And today I specialize in airbrush and traditional makeup application! I love all the creative avenues it has taken me from wedding day bride bliss to empowering boudoir sessions, and a little of everything between!

Over the last few years I have discovered how rewarding it is to become an entrepreneur and to have the freedom to journey wherever I choose. I am proud of the business I have created over the last few years as I continue my education and passion for my profession. My favorite part of what I do is laughing with women I just met every single day! Work never feels like work when your doing something you love. I always found that saying to be quite cheesy until I found my true passion in life.

So, lets raise a glass ( a glass of water, a glass of juice, or champagne) and cheers to all the beautiful people I will meet this year, who will sit in my chair and trust my passion while I laugh with them!
